Chitra
Banarjee (right), 8 years old, attends the
University School in Broward County and has been playing
her violin for four years. She started her studies at
the Suzuki Music Academy and now studies privately with
Dr. Lisa Walker. Chitra is a member of the Symphonia
Strings at the South Florida Youth Symphony and is also
a student of classical Eastern Indian dance.
Elizabeth
Shin, age 9, began her violin studies at age 5 with
Violins in Motions and now studies with Dr. Lisa
Walker. Elizabeth attends Indian Trace Elementary in
Weston and enjoys playing the piano, singing, reading,
and drawing. This is Elizabeth's first year with the
Symphonia Strings of the South Florida Youth Symphony
and she was recently promoted to Concertmaster in
January 2008.
