Bella Griffith-Smith is a classically-trained soprano who performed on an international stage. When she retired, she saw few opportunities for young people to use their musical and vocal talent in opera and classical music, so she decided to do something.

In 1975, the Coral Gables Chamber Symphony and Opera company gave it’s first performance. Since then, she has produced a wide variety of programs, each providing an opportunity for those with talent to “win scholarships” or, simply advance their careers as opera singers and classical musicians.

The objective was, and continues to be, to provide an opportunity for young people to gain experience by performing with adults, who wish to expand their own “professional career.”
